The ECLSTS has all the things that make a show great. There is a large hall where both dealers and manufacturers mix to display they products. It is common to see people making two and three trips to their autos to drop off their purchases. Some people do not even make it past the lobby where the show cars are sold. They get their admission ticket, get the show cars, go back to their auto and they head back for the booths.
This year the model contest is even bigger and better with over $800 in gift certificates from Aristo-Craft Trains. Get your entry form here: ENTRY FORM There are also ribbons for the winners of each of the categories. It should be fun to participate and great to see!
The show is so big that the clubs that set up their modular railroads are in a connected hall all to themselves. They are like ants all day Thursday setting up their amazing railroad empires. There are hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of feet of track. Each of the scenes displayed are more amazing than the next. What to do to attend. First, decide that you are going to come. Sure if you live in California it is a long way to go to a show. But once in your life you really should come just for the experience. So if not this year, what about next year? It is not too late to find a room. Try http://www.yorkpa.org and the show site for directions and times, http://www.eclsts.com So how about you that live closer, but are sitting on the fence? How about just coming for the day? If you do buy something and save the money it would take to have something shipped to you, there is your gas money and it was worth the trip. Find more bargains and you have saved the cost of a hotel room.
Not in the mood to buy? How about attending the show to see the modules and models that are on display? They say a picture is worth a thousand words. How much more is seeing these layouts in person? There really is no substitute to talking with the people that are knowlegable in their field. Sure there are always the online LSOL WorkShops, but what is better than face to face time? Don't forget the seminars. There are experts that will take an hour to show you just how to help you on a specific topic. The topics are as varied as your interests and they run all day. There are over 20 hours of sessions to pick from. Another good reason to attend. When you come to the show, stop our booth and sign our guest book. We love to put names with faces. So do I sound like a ECLSTS cheerleader? Well, I guess I am.
