  • How do I design a "small" indoor "Large Scale" railway.

My indoor layout is in the attic, one cannot stand up, however, a bad space is better than no space. The area is approximately 10' x 18'. Around the edge of the area, I've turned it into a mini-room with sheet rock, I have a plywood base for track off the floor at the best height for the situation and it is about 2' wide. Within that two feet I can have 3 tracks (wide) reasonbly spaced, with a few bends here and there. In some places I have a single track. Most of my buildings are "flats" with a few small Pola buildings setting about.
But what this "odd" space does for me is to have areas that are different. Look North and I have one scene (rolling hills), look East and I have a city, long station platform (about 8') West is going to be mountains (Done by cutting the platform out from under and putting in bridges, streams, etc.-still being worked on). The center of the areas serves as a workshop of sorts. I have a beach chair there and a board on some legs that serves nice as a work-table. Hope this gives you and idea.
